Merry Christmas from the Selewicz Family

Merry Christmas from the Selewicz Family 2013

The Selewicz family wishes you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful ride into the new year.

And of course, you can’t have a Christmas card without a cheesy poem. Here is ours:

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the trees
Not a Selewicz was driving, we hadn’t the keys.
But the Caddy was shining, the roof was detached
So we hung from the branches, greeting all those who passed

Now Barbara, Now Tyler, Now Ryan, and Joe
We gathered together with a big Ho! Ho! Ho!
With hearts full of love and holiday cheer,
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Also, since I never posted last year’s card, here’s the Selewicz family sending you a splash of Christmas cheer from Santa Clara University:

All-New Palm Drive: Santa Clara University

All-New Palm Drive at Santa Clara University

Santa Clara University just completed a remodel of Palm Drive, the main road leading up to the mission, just in time for classes to resume next week. The new pathway is not open to motor vehicles which will make for a safer commute to and from class by students on foot, bike, and longboard. The centerpiece of the pathway will be a fountain that has not been complete. Next time you’re on campus, be sure to check it out.

Early Morning Fire at 7-Eleven one block from SCU

706 Benton: A fire that started in the attic of 7-Eleven next to Santa Clara University ignited at 7:45am on September 5.

Just feet away from Santa Clara Fire Department Station 1, the 7-Eleven at 706 Benton Street (at The Alameda) caught fire the morning of Thursday, Sept. 5. The 3 alarm blaze began in the attic and was first reported by construction workers next door at the brand new Santa Clara University parking garage. Traffic had to be diverted as firefighters struggled to extinguish the blaze from the outside as it was deemed unsafe to enter the building. Everybody was able to evacuate with no injuries. A week after the fire, the store remains boarded up and surrounded by a fence. The store has been a favorite late night stop for students who live in the neighborhood. There is no word if/when the store will be rebuilt.

It was finals week at Santa Clara University on Tuesday, December 7 and this is the view students had from the library while they studied for the rest of their finals. Swig Hall is in the distance and the library is to the right. I took this photo on the way to my Web Programming final with the Pentax K20d and Sigma 18-200 at 18mm.
