Narada Michael Walden and his band released their album Thunder on Thursday, September 5 with a show in front of a packed house at Yoshi’s in Oakland. Their 20 song set-list included many of their own new songs as well as some well known hits including Purple Haze and Freeway of Love. They ended the show with a song dedicated to Angela Bofill who was in the audience.
The Dropkick Murphys played at the Fox Theater in Oakland on November 6, 2009. I was allowed to shoot the first three songs from the pit and the rest of the show from the crowd. The lighting was very challenging. Most of the time the stage was flooded with deep red and blue lighting. Aside from the very cool and theatrical, but challenging lighting, the show was very high energy with a lot of crowd involvement. Because the Fox Theater is so beautiful, I made sure to get some wide angle shots of the architecture. Continue reading →
