For my shoot with Larry, Mikayla, Sophia, and Ben Mersereau, they suggested we go to Griffith Quarry in Penryn, CA and it ended up being a great idea. There were plenty of trees whose leaves were just beginning to change color for the fall letting in just a hint of sunlight. As any photographer who has photographed a baby knows, we had to work fast, but we ended up with some great shots.
End Notes: The sun was just beginning to set for this shoot so we definitely got to take advantage of the “golden hour.” For lighting, I used a mix of natural sunlight and the Sigma 530 speedlight shot into a silver reflecting umbrella triggered with Cybersyncs. I used the Pentax K20d and the 50mm f/1.4 for most of the shoot.
