LMFAO headlined the annual fall concert at Santa Clara University and the crowd was pumped for their hit songs Shots, Yes, and La la la. The band came out strong with their classic minute long opener, Rock The Beat, and bounced up and down the stage for about an hour finishing with two encore songs. Opening the show was DJ Benzi spinning the latest hits to warm up the crowd, Donnis getting up close and personal with the crowd, and The Cata-Racs & Dev opening with a variation of Train’s Hey Soul Sister and keeping the crowd going with Far East Movement’s latest hit, Like A G6, which The Cata-Racs produced.

Behind The Scenes (LMFAO Soundcheck & Interview)
End Notes: For this show I used the Pentax K20d with the 18-200mm and 70-200 f/2.8 most of the time and the 50mm f/1.4 here and there. I was allowed to use flash for all of the opening acts and the first two songs of LMFAO so the 50mm f/1.4 came in handy when I had to put the flash away. As you can see in the photo below, there was very little front light and when there was front light, it was purple and pink. The poor front lighting combined with the constant movement of the band made it a very difficult shoot, though the awesome backlighting in combination with the Sigma 530 speedlight made for some very cool photos.
